This is the dog that my sister and I grew up with. He was a Shetland Sheepdog (aka, Sheltie) and his name was Freckles. He was awesome, and I loved him.

I know there are a number of people that have visited this blog in reference to the dealings I’ve had with Jessica (Bailey) Sanderson. I’ve been a vocal critic of hers since 2009, when I had the misfortune of contracting with her to do a design for this very blog. What ensued was a series of delays, false deadlines, outright lies, and finally, silence, after she blocked me on all social media and stopped returning my e-mails.
Anyone who has since Googled her, will find post after post by others who say they had similar dealings with Jess. There are numerous documented accounts of lies, broken promises, refusals to refund money despite non-delivery of contracted work, and people across the country (and the world) who’ve been left with no resolution to their struggles with her. In all of this, I somehow became a sounding board for a lot of these people. I received e-mails, blog comments, and tweets from so many, all with stories like mine, who, if nothing else, just wanted their money back.
Well, to all of you, I can now say – I finally got my money back.
I know that statement made a lot of ears perk up, and I’ll explain as much as I can. I made a promise to Jess that I would not repost the e-mail conversation I had with her, and I will stick by my word. I will, however, tell you why I think she finally decided to get in touch.
(Please note – with the exception of statement in bold, the following paragraph is speculation on my part. I have no direct knowledge of the progress or path of her current venture; some basic research, however, leads me to believe that I may not be far off the mark.) Jess has got a new gig going on right now, and it has the potential to make her serious money and earn her some notoriety. Even though she’s no longer going by the name “Jessica Sanderson” or “Jessica Bailey”, I think she realizes that the people she’s currently working with will be smart enough to look into her background and be able to put two and two together. And if these people uncover evidence that she’s apparently built her reputation by lying, stealing, and deceiving people, I’d say her chances of making a reputable name for herself will be significantly diminished. As she’s probably on the verge of “bigger and better” things, now is probably the ideal time for her to “fix” some awful situations she’s created.
Speculation aside, Jess now wants to make things right with the people who’ve had issues with her – she made this clear, by her own words, in our e-mail conversation. Whatever her motivations at this point, be they generated by a sudden realization that she was wrong and a desire to make things right, or perhaps something less altruistic, I’m taking her at her word (when I told her in our conversation that I wanted my money back, she refunded it that very night). In truth, I don’t care what caused her to want to finally refund me 3 years after the fact, I’m just glad I got my money back. I’m sure the rest of you are in the same boat.
Since Jess has shown some motivation to repair what she can, we came to an agreement. I told her that, after making a post (this one) explaining that I got my money back from her and that the issue had been resolved, I would no longer blog/comment/tweet about the situation. I’m going to stand by that – now that I’ve gotten what I wanted, I’d just as soon forget I ever dealt with her. I also told Jess that I would reach out to those who feel they’ve been wronged by her, and help them to get in touch to resolve their issues with her. So, for any of you who’ve had a situation like mine with Jess, PLEASE contact her. She can be reached via e-mail at: jessabailey@gmail.com In the event that she sends you a refund via PayPal (as she did with me), it will come from moderndaymoms@gmail.com
As I said, this is going to be the last post I make (here, or anywhere else) in reference to my dealings with Jess. I’ve gotten back what she took from me, and I hope that you all can get resolution and put an end to your frustrations regarding her, too.

A crazy, late-night storm cropped up out of nowhere. Was kind of awesome.
